MANITOBA BUILDING TRADES ANNOUNCES COVID-19 MEMBER UPDATES

March 26, 2020

As we continue to navigate through these difficult times, we want to ensure you—our members—are safe and informed. We understand the uncertainty construction and skilled tradespeople are facing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and we continue to be in contact with contractors and project owners to see how our work will be affected.

COVID-19 Member Updates

To keep our members up-to-date on important information and resources, Manitoba Building Trades has created a new COVID-19 member updates section on our website:mbtrades.ca/covid-19/. This resource is updated regularly to continue to provide you the latest information on the evolving COVID-19 situation.

Further important COVID-19 news updates can be found on our news page.

Building Trade Locals

For unionized members of the building trades looking for more information about your specific trade, please call your Local for information. While you may have lots of questions, we remind you that the Locals will be receiving many calls and will work hard to keep up. To help Locals help you faster, please follow the following guidelines:

  • Please do NOT go to the Local without an appointment; this will help us all prevent exposure and allow people to do their jobs without interruption.
  • Call or email the Local for information. Unless critically urgent, please give your Local a chance to work on your issue. Tell the Local what you need and give your agents time to work on it.
  • Locals will also be making plans and procedures for eventual recalls. Please wait for that information as it will be sent as soon as possible.

Stay Connected

During these times, it’s important to stay connected. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates. If you have an urgent question or concern, call us at 204-956-7425 or email at info@mbtrades.ca.
